It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and you have no idea what to buy the avid runner in your life. Whether you’ve got a Secret Santa gift to buy, you need a small stocking filler or you want to spoil them, there’s something for everyone in this list of goodies that runners would love to find under the tree on Christmas morning!

Kit from Runners Heal – The Runners Heal mission is to relieve hunger and drive education in East Africa. Their vision is a world where no child goes to school hungry. Each shirt you buy guarantees one child with one month of school meals. They are literally trying to heal the world through the power of running.

A pair of Oofos Recovery Footwear – I absolutely love my Oofos flip flops! I picked mine up at the London Marathon Expo after hearing a lot of good reviews and I’ve never looked back. They’re like clouds for your feet and no runner should be without them! Oofos are engineered to help your feet recover in ways that typical footwear can’t. They have arch support and they absorb impact so they’re perfect for you tired feet after a long run. If they’re not about that flip flop life in the colder months, don’t worry – they also make closed in shoes that are perfect for those winter walks!

A medal hanger – I make no secret of the fact that I love a bit of bling! Not jewellery or sparkly handbags … I’m talking about medals (Yes, I’m one of those runners that thinks twice about a race that has no medal at the end!). I’ve collected collected quite a few over the years that I’ve been running, and wouldn’t be without a medal hanger to display them all. The Medal Hanger Shop have loads to choose from and even sell a single bar so the medal collector in your life can keep adding to that collection!

A selection of coffee – Most runners love coffee and use it as part of their pre-run ritual. There’s also nothing better than having coffee and a pastry after your weekly Parkrun! Crumpets & Coffee sell a range of flavoured coffees (the Coconut Cream is my favourite) that would please those runners who absolutely insist that they don’t run as well without their shot of caffeine!

Safety Skin Reflective Skin Spread – Many runners continue to train through the colder months and those winter sessions require a bit more visibility. Harris Active Sports sell a reflective product designed to be applied directly on your skin. You can test it out with the flash of a camera until you reach the perfect level of reflectiveness. Post-run it will wash off easily with a wet wipe or soap and water. It’s perfect for those runners who are so dedicated to shorts that they wear them all year round. As you can see from the picture you can have quite a lot of fun with it!

A pair of compression socks – Your legs can take a battering when you’re a runner so compressions socks could make the perfect gift! I have a pair from Rymora that I love – they fit me perfectly and they haven’t rubbed my feet once (even when my feet got very wet during a 16 mile run!). They have plenty of bright colours so they’re perfect for winter training. You’ve got to be sneaky for this gift though as you’ll need to measure their calves to get the right sizing!

A Garmin watch – If you want to spend a little bit more and really spoil them go for a Garmin. I love my Garmin Forerunner 235 and rarely run without it. It can track distance, pace, time and heart rate during running and cycling, and activities will automatically upload to Garmin Connect which you can download on your phone for free. It can also help you track your step count and your sleep. I find my Garmin so easy to use and, through the Garmin app, you can input your workouts so there’s no need for them to count while they’re doing their intervals!

Millie Rose Designs Morse Code Bracelet – This adjustable, handmade bracelet has such a clever design! Applying the dots and dashes of morse code, Millie Rose Designs creates words using sterling silver beads along with 14K gold-filled beads which sits between the letters. All beads sit on a silk cord of which you can choose your runner’s favourite colour. I got one for my birthday this year and I loved it! All bracelets are made to order and you can add a special gift message.

A buff – A buff makes a great gift as you can wear it in different ways. I wear mine as a headband, a sweatband, a scarf and, when it’s especially cold, a face mask. It’s invaluable in the winter as an extra layer and in the summer you can dip it in water and use it to cool yourself down! Racegifts.co.uk have a really fun selection to choose from so you can add a little colour to someone’s training.

A SpiBelt – A Spibelt is the perfect place for runners to keep all the essentials during a session. The belt is elasticated so it’s bounce free and the expandable pouch is big enough for a phone, keys, ID and some emergency money. I’ve had one since I started running and it’s still going strong! I have taken it all over the world (including the Chicago Marathon) so it’s been with me at many races. I recently bought the H2O Venture which comes with two water bottles, race number toggles and energy gel loops so it’s great for those runners that take part in long distance races.

Runr hoodie – I absolutely love my Runr gear! I have a cosy hoodie and a bobble hat that keep me warm before and after my races, and my hoodie is another item that has travelled the world with me to events. It’s made from 100% organic cotton and it has two pockets, one of which has a hole for your headphones. It comes in different colours and includes two different colour drawstrings so you can choose your look. This hoodie is perfect for anyone who is proud to be a runner!

So there we have it! Hopefully this helps you buy the perfect gift for the runner in your life from the dedicated Park Runner to the medal hoarder, all the way to the person who travels the world to run marathons!

Happy Christmas!

I love running! I'm attempting to run all six of the World Marathon Majors but I'm a wannabe triathlete as well.
