Hi, I’m Claire! I’m a runner and wannabe triathlete.
I’m originally from London but based in Portsmouth and I started running in 2010 after watching the Great South Run on TV. I haven’t stopped since although I’ve had varying degrees of success. I started with a 10k and I’ve managed to work my way up to marathon distance over the years. At the moment my goal is to run the World Marathon Majors and I’ve already completed the Berlin, London, Chicago and New York Marathon.
I stay active to help with my mental health. I’m really bad at letting stuff go which leads to horrible over thinking. Running helps me organise my thoughts and clear that stuff away. I’m a big believer that running and physical activity can help manage things like this. This is why I appreciate the good and the bad runs because I got out there and did it for me and my mental health.
I’m not all about running though …
- I’m a fan of female superheroes. Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman are at the top of the list and I ran in a Wonder Woman costume at the 2018 London Marathon.
- I really like bridges (a bit weird, I know). Running over Tower Bridge during the London Marathon was a massive highlight for me!
- I love cheese (I mean, who doesn’t?!) and, if I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would probably be halloumi.
- I’m mostly fuelled by prosecco and I celebrate all my races with a glass or two!
I’m hoping there will be many more running adventures to come so follow my blog and stay up to date with my little running world!
